Obituary of Isabel S. Eramo

Isabel Eramo, daughter of Trinidad and Antonio Sancibrian of Malaga, Spain passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 30 at the Bishop Wicke wing of the United Methodist Health Facility.

She was born on March 16, 1923 in Barre, Vermont, where she lived until graduating from High School.

She then moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut and worked at Bridgeport Brass where she met her future husband, Joseph C. Eramo. They married in January of 1948 and continued to live and raise their children, Donna and John, in Bridgeport CT. She then worked at Macy's in the Accounting Department.

Isabel was a great cook and enjoyed getting together with her family and numerous friends.

She also loved to play cards and travel. She returned to Spain many times in her adult life to see her Spanish relatives.

She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Antonio Sancibrian. She is survived by her sister, Trinidad (Sam) Vimini of Fairfield CT, daughter Donna (Roger) Hurley of Old Lyme CT, son John (Lynne) Eramo of Asheville, NC, grandson Seth Hurley of Portland, ME, granddaughter Sarah (Jeff) Hurley Tillinghast and great grandchildren, Fiona and Ferne Tillinghast of Brunswick, ME. Surviving also are her niece Jill Walker, nephews David Sancibrian, Robert Vimini, Peter Vimini and Paul Vimini.

The family would like to recognize her home healthcare aide, Janece. She and her daughter often took Isabel on fun outings and helped greatly with her care while she was still able to live independently in her home in Trumbull. We thank her for her loving and devoted care of Isabel. We also thank the professional staff at The United Methodist Health Facility for their kindness and care.

A family celebration of Isabel's life will be private.
