Obituary of Norma A. Johansen
Norma A. Johansen, age 88, a longtime Bridgeport resident passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Gardner Heights, Shelton. Born in Bridgeport on September 20, 1933 she was a daughter of the late Karl Emil Johansen and Ruth Bishop. Norma retired from Dictaphone / Pitney Bowes with over 25 years of service. She also worked part time jobs at Silvermine Tavern and First Union Bank during that time. After her retirement, Norma worked for many years at the Senior Lunch Program, 2400 North Ave., Bridgeport, where she took great care in providing warm meals in a welcoming environment for her regular lunch group. She loved traveling, going for walks, getting together with friends and was always willing to help a friend in need. She was especially close to and proud of her grandniece and grandnephew.
She is survived by her niece Kathy Downs and her husband Kevin of Trumbull and their children, Connor and Audrey. She was predeceased by her brother, Emil and sister, Vivian.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may greet the family on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
