Obituary of Enrico C. Belenchia
Enrico C. Belenchia, age 91, of West Haven and formerly of Milford passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Theresa (Belardinelli) Belenchia. Born in Bridgeport on October 1, 1930 he was a son of the late Victor and Rose (Donini) Belenchia. Enrico was a proud U.S. Army Veteran having served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict. He later worked as a foreman for Alloy Engineering before his retirement with over 25 years of dedicated service and having built many friendships along the way. Enrico enjoyed golfing, especially with his best friend Phil Montanaro, and was an avid bowler. He also had a knack for and enjoyed building puzzles. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving sons, Lawrence Belenchia and his wife Patricia of West Haven, Robert Belenchia of Waterford and Brian Belenchia and his fiancé Rachel Edom of Sparta, NJ, his cherished grandchildren, Enrico Belenchia Jr, Robert Messer, Suzanne Lamphere, Marisa Messer-Belenchia, Alisa Brochu, Jill Serra, Anthony Belenchia, Tina Wilson, Ashton Belenchia and Zachary Belenchia, his sisters, Nancy Belenchia of Shelton and Palma Maldonado Westbrook, as well as 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife Theresa, he was also predeceased by his son, Enrico G. Belenchia, his grandson, Steven Belenchia and his brothers, Fred and Furio Belenchia.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. directly in St. Sebastian Church, 155 Washington St., Middletown, CT. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in the State Veteran's Cemetery, Middletown. Friends may greet the family on Monday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Legion Charities in Enrico's name.

The family would like to give a very special and heartfelt thank you to the nurses of Hospice, Dr. Agin, Dr. Spector, Dr. DeLott and their staff who gave the highest level of care and compassion to Enrico. We cannot thank you enough for all you have done. The family would also like to thank Ruth Williams for all the help and care she offered during our times of need.
