Obituary of Jose Fernandes Lourenco

Jose Fernandes Lourenco, age 76, of Shelton, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Bridgeport Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 48 years to Maria Amelia Campos Lourenco.

Born in Valdosende, Terras de Bouro, Braga, Portugal on November 25, 1946, he was a son of the late Armenio Fernandes Lourenco and Deolinda Fernandes Maria Lourenco and was a longtime resident of Monroe, CT.

Jose's greatest enjoyments came from spending time outdoors alongside his family and whenever possible visiting his childhood home in Portugal. It was easy to see Jose's unconditional love for his grandchildren whenever he spoke of them. His family will cherish all of the memories, family dinners, and holidays they spent together and his memory will live on in their hearts.

In addition to his beloved wife Maria, survivors include his loving son, Christopher Campos Lourenco and his wife Shannon and his two cherished grandchildren, Michael and Emery. He was predeceased by a son, Michael Campos Lourenco.

The funeral service and burial are being held in Portugal.
