Obituary of Daniel E. Cooper-Bey

Daniel E. Cooper-Bey, 77, of Trumbull passed away at home June 9, 2023. He was the husband of Lisa Cooper-Bey. Daniel was born in Liege, Belgium February 13, 1946, son of the late Isaac and Marie Roland Cooper-Bey. He grew up in New York City and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War Era and as a Merchant Marine when his enlistment ended. After his time of service, Daniel had a lengthy career in advertising working as a Creative Director and Art Director for some of the top ad agencies in New York City. He eventually transitioned into directing and producing television commercials for many of the top US consumer goods companies. Daniel went on to produce and direct movies, shorts and myriad other projects. He was a member of the Directors Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild. Daniel was an avid and skilled sailor for over 40 years and loved sailing all over Long Island Sound, to Block Island and to New York City. In addition to his wife Lisa, Daniel is survived by his daughter Laurie Cooper-Bey; his sons Lucas and Gabriel Cooper-Bey; his granddaughter Rhea Rose Cooper-Bey; his brothers Alan, André and Ahmed Cooper-Bey; his sister Denise Datria; as well as several nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Yasmin Cooper-Bey. Services will be private and at the discretion of the family.
