I knew Dennis for a short time as a Taxaide volunteer. His extensive knowledge, all things taxes, was impressive. His assistance to fellow counselors was always welcomed. Finally, his humor kept things light and enjoyable at the site. Dennis was an unique individual. His presence will certainly be missed.

Dennis was a rockstar when it came to doing taxes and helping our clients. I had the good fortune of him being my mentor and dear friend at the VITA program since 2018. We both had children that lived in Nashville, so we would exchange pictures of their pets. I can’t tell you how many pictures I have of Bo. Tax season won’t be the same without him. My condolences to his family.

My deepest sympathies to the Miko family. I got to know Dennis as a fellow AARP VITA volunteer. We will all miss Dennis for his dedication and his almost inexplicably joyful commitment to the VITA work. In addition to how knowledgeable and helpful he was, we will miss his friendly banter most of all.

My deepest condolences to the Miko family upon the passing of Dennis. We worked together, along with the rest of the AARP tax team in Bridgeport and Fairfield every tax season for the last several years. As the team leader, I would always rely on Dennis for his knowledge and guidance. He was a good friend, who I will dearly miss. Every time he spoke about perhaps moving away, to either Florida or Tennessee, I would get a pit in my stomach imagining a tax season without his presence. We all enjoyed his lively personality and his absence will be sorely felt by us all

Dennis touched the lives of so many who needed his help. He was responsible for the preparation of thousands of tax returns for those who were needy. He respected his many clients no matter their station, and often went out of his way to obtain relief for them. He gave his own cell # to those who needed his personal attention. So many of them would thank him, bless him, even bring him cookies. He was there for those who needed him. Dennis was the real thing!

I'm so grateful to have known Dennis. He was always willing to help others, he had a wicked sense of humor, and he would call all his friends and acquaintances to talk for hours. He was a huge fan of a good lobster roll, and I hope he's having some in heaven! I send my prayers and condolences to his family during this difficult and sad time. Caitlin
