Gail and I were roommates at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. But by way of this memory, we had just spent a long night in flight to England, then a train from the airport to Paddington Station. As we began to walk to our B&B, my hand slipped, my suitcase tipped over, and in the process, tore one of my fingernails off more than half way down.I stood trying not to scream..My dear old friend, instantly dug through her bag and produced some sort of a little nail sniper, something to stop the bleeding, and a bandage. She quickly took off the piece of nail, cleaned up the blood, and bandaged my finger. This was one of the first times, I saw her true selfless spirit. We stood for a moment, then she smiled and asked if I was ready to continue on. Of course we had an amazing time..filled with riotous laughter as we traveled around the countryside. While this memory may seem trivial, it is one that I hold dear to my heart. The Gail that I knew was open and loving. Her generosity of spirit as a wonder to behold. I have been given the gift of her friendship , and am thankful for it.may she rest peacefully in the arms of her angels until we meet again.
