Obituary of Lisa M. Barrett

Lisa Shepard Barrett, 66, passed away unexpectedly on April 18, 2024 in Stratford, CT. Lisa was the most devoted wife, mother to her children and grandmother to her grandchildren. Lisa was born in Bridgeport to Dorothy and Richard Shepard on April 29, 1957, graduated from Notre Dame High School, class of '75, and later graduated from Katherine Gibbs School. Married in 1979 to Michael G. Barrett of the Lake Forest section of Bridgeport, they would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in October of this year. After raising her 3 boys in Trumbull, Lisa worked for the Transportation Department of Trumbull Public Schools for 20 years as a devoted public servant, until her retirement in 2023. Lisa had the most loving heart, evidenced by the dedication she showed in caring for her mother, Dorothy, for many years. More recently, Lisa's focus was her family, particularly her 6 grandchildren on whom she doted most often when she hosted her weekly Sunday family dinners, always topped off with Nana's Ice Cream Bar.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Michael G. Barrett, and children, Ryan and wife Kerri Barrett, Tyler and wife Samantha Barrett, and Casey and wife Kim Barrett. The six lights of her life, grandchildren Mason, Cameron, Shay, Jack, Charlotte and Keegan will miss her dearly, as well as her devoted 4-legged best friend, Piper. She is also survived by siblings Susan Shepard and husband Howard Berger, sister Stephanie and husband Ed Kulhawik and brother Timothy and wife Laurie Shepard, and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will take place at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull on Wednesday, April 24th at 12 noon.
