Obituary of Daniel Fernandes Monteiro

Daniel Fernandes Monteiro, age 50, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Cecili Aparecida Monteiro, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2024 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on December 27, 1973, he was a son of Antonio and Maria Teresa Monteiro. 

A graduate of Trumbull High School Class of 1992, Dan was an employee of Sikorsky Aircraft, with 17 years of dedicated service. 

He enjoyed watching movies from his extensive VHS collection while enjoying a massage and a good espresso, to which he never said no too!! He loved playing basketball with his sons and was always ready for a good pick-up game with his cousins and friends. Dan was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics, New York Giants and New York Yankees. 

Dan had so many wonderful qualities including his kindness, strength and unwavering support. A hard-working man, he provided nothing but the best for his family. He treasured time with his family, especially his children and looked forward to family vacations. 

But above all he was a dedicated and loving husband, father, son, nephew, cousin and friend. The unconditional love he gave and the memories they created will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be truly missed by all.

In addition to his beloved wife Cecili and his parents Antonio and Maria Teresa, survivors include his two cherished and adored sons, Nicholas Jose Monteiro and Marcus Paulo Monteiro, his Godparents, Fernando Monteiro and Lisa Crespo, his Goddaughter, Sara Crespo, mother-in-law, Marlene Delgado, brother-in-law, Glauber Delgado, as well as several aunts, uncles, numerous cousins and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his brother Paulo Monteiro and his father-in-law, Jose Delgado.

A Mass of Christian will be celebrated on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Theresa Church 5301 Main Street, Trumbull. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. At Daniel’s request there will be no calling hours.
