Obituary of Joseph D. Alarcon

Joseph D. Alarcon, age 89, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Autumn Lake at the Willows of Woodbridge. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia (DiDio) Alarcon. Born in Bridgeport on November 12, 1934, he was a son of the late Domonic and Mary (Saia) Alarcon and was a longtime resident of Trumbull.

Joe was the owner and operator of Alarcon Tire in downtown Devon for many years before his retirement in 2012. As a business man in Milford, he became entrenched in the community. He was a longtime and founding member of the Milford Small Business Community and an active member of the Lions Club in Devon for many years as well. He has been a member of Mill River Country Club for over 32 year and recently had the bowling lanes at the club named after him. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing golf with family and friends over the years at Mill River as well as at Tashua Knolls in Trumbull. At Tashua he was a member of the Senior Bowling League that competed on Tuesdays and Fridays. Joe's other enjoyment was playing checkers with family and friends and horseshoes. He had teams that played at the Valley Horseshoe League at the American Legion Hall in Shelton. Above everything his greatest day was the one he met his wife Pat while roller-skating at Long Beach Skate Land in Lordship. He was an avid NY Yankee's fan and didn't miss a game, in fact the night before he passed, he was able to see Aaron Judge hit his 300th homerun. Joe was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his two loving children, Joseph G. Alarcon and his wife Elena, Gina Allen and her husband Ben Meister, a brother, Patrick Alarcon and his wife Onieta, two sisters, Anita Careddu and her husband Alan, Patricia Havanac and her husband Richard, three beloved grandchildren, Joseph M. Alarcon III, William C. Allen, Samuel T. Allen and three great grandchildren, Jayden Alarcon, Joseph D. Alarcon IV and Nicholas G. Brown as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Andrew and Angelo Alarcon and a granddaughter, Amanda Alarcon.
