Obituary of Nicola Chianca

Nicola Chianca, age 89, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Raffaella "Falina" Clericuzio Chianca, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at St. Camillus Rehabilitation Center, Stamford. Born in Ariano Irpino, Province of Avellino, Italy, he was a son of the late Joseph and Maria Russolillo Chianca. Prior to his retirement, Nicola worked as a machinist at Dresser Industries.

He enjoyed working in his yard and taking care of his lawn as well as his son's. There was never a time he wasn't fixing or building something around the house. However, Nicola's greatest joy was woodworking especially when it was with his grandsons, Anthony and Alex. They learned so much from their grandfather and will be sure to carry on his legacy.

Survivors include his son, Joseph Chianca and his wife Joann of Milford, a brother, Tonino Chianca and his wife Maria of Torino, Italy, three brothers in law, Filippo Clericuzio of Bridgeport, Nicola Clericuzio of Trumbull and Anthony Clericuzio of Shelton, two cherished grandsons, Anthony and Alexander, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 10 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, St. Monica Mausoleum, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489, www.alz.org/ct
