Obituary of Angela DeGirolamo

Angela DeGirolamo, age 67, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on December 26, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Amedeo and Concetta (D'Aiuto) DeGirolamo and was a longtime resident of Trumbull.

Angela received her bachelor's degree from the University of Bridgeport, and later went on to work at Bridgeport Hospital spending her career working in the Blood Bank as a Medical Technologist, with over 43 years of dedicated service before her retirement in 2022. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the New England Patriots but she was known by everyone as a diehard New York Mets Fan. She never missed a game in person or on tv, and in 2015 she was at Citi Field to see the Mets play in game 6 of the World Series. Angela's faith was an integral part of her life and she devoted much of her time to her church. She was a lifelong and active parishioner of Christ the King Church in Trumbull where she served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years. Angela's greatest joy came from spending time with family. She was a loving daughter, cousin and friend and will be remembered by her kindness, faith and generosity.

She is survived by her many cousins and their families, many of whom she referred to as her nieces and nephews. Her passing will be mourned deeply by everyone that knew and loved her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. directly in Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Easton. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to any cancer research foundation.
