Obituary of Vincent J. Maiolo III
Vincent J. Maiolo, III., age 63, of Shelton passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at his home. Born in Bridgeport on July 6, 1961, he was the son of Vincent J. and Elizabeth (Valentine) Maiolo, Jr. of Fairfield. Vinny earned his bachelor's degree from the Sacred Heart University and was most recently employed by United Healthcare for the past 29 years in the accounting department, where he had built many friendships. A loving and devoted son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend of many. He was supportive and always actively involved with being a part of his nieces' lives. He enjoyed going to his great nephew's baseball games and attending his great nieces dance recitals and plays. He was a kind and gentle man that was happiest when surrounded by his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Vinnie had a great sense of humor and a knowledge for Pop Culture. There was never a time he didn't know the answer to things that stumped the family. He was a collector of movies, that was sparked from his times working at a video store in his earlier years. He also enjoyed a good book, attending concerts, plays and vacationing with family and friends.
In addition to his beloved parents, Vincent Jr. and Elizabeth, other survivors include his devoted sister, Donna Hering and her husband Gary of Shelton, his cherished nieces, Jillian Carroll and her husband Richard of Shelton and Jamie Videira of Beacon Falls, his adored great nieces and nephew, Makenna and Avery Carroll and Jake and Charlotte Videira, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. directly in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Rd., Fairfield. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
