Obituary of Gail E. Winick
Gail Elizabeth (Connick) Winick, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on November 19, 2024, with her loving family by her side. Born to Anne & Linwood Connick of Somers, Gail was a life-long Connecticut resident, graduating from Somers High and pursuing her education at Fisher Junior College in Boston, MA. She then lived most of her adult life in West Suffield, Enfield, & Trumbull.
Gail had a long career as an executive secretary, working at Hamilton Standard, Travelers Insurance, Jake Brake, and The Hartford. Her professional expertise and warm, vibrant personality left an enduring impact on all who knew her.
Gail's passions extended far beyond her work. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—the love of animals and children, gardening, reading, attending church, singing, theatre-going, and spending time with family. A true New Englander at heart, she loved to share long country drives and visits to quaint bed-and-breakfasts with her closest friends.
Her greatest joy was her daughter, Michelle Consolati & her husband, Michael with grandson, Brayden of Trumbull. Whether watching Brayden's basketball/football games or attending school events, Gail relished every moment with her sweet grandson. Besides the Consolati crew, Gail leaves behind sisters, Linda Connick of Glastonbury, Jude Connick-Gutierrez with husband, Enrique of Somers, a former husband & friend, Gary Winick & wife, Barbara, along with extended family members, and friends. The family is indebted to Spring Meadows in Trumbull & Ludlowe Center for Health & Rehabilitation in Fairfield for Gail's excellent care.
Gail's loving spirit will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved her. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Trumbull Congregational Church, 3115 Reservoir Ave., Trumbull, followed by a luncheon for all.
