Obituary of Mary C. Kasper

Mary C. Flanagan Kasper, age 82 of Beacon Falls, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at St. Vincent's Medical Center with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 57 years to George C. Kasper. Born in Bridgeport on April 7, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Edith (Hayden) Flanagan and was a resident of Shelton for over 37 years before moving to Beacon Falls.

Before her retirement, Mary was the Associate Development Director with the Archdiocese of Bridgeport for many years. She was an active parishioner of St. Lawrence Church in Shelton and a longtime member of the Highland Golf Club Lassies and enjoyed playing setback on Saturdays at Highland. Her nick name was "Mary Noble" for her warm and caring nature and her willingness to stand up for the underdog. Her greatest joy and happiness came from spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Throughout her years in Shelton and Beacon Falls, she and George developed many long lasting and meaningful friendships. Mary was an excellent cook and enjoyed entertaining, and will be missed by her many dear friends. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and her memory will live on in all the lives she touched.

In addition to her beloved husband George of 57 years, survivors include two loving children, Scott J. Kasper and his wife Kathleen and Laura B. Kasper and her fiancé Graham Boyd and two cherished grandchildren, Richard and Jessica Kasper as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her eight siblings, Walter, Richard, Edward, John, Joseph, Ward and Loretta Flanagan and Patricia Paul.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 25, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport.
