Obituary of Thomas Losonci
Owner & Operator of Madison Jewelers
Thomas Losonci, 56, of Trumbull, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2010 after a long and heroic battle with cancer. His loving wife Pam was by his side. Born in Budapest, Hungary in 1953, Tom moved to the United States with his family in 1957 and spent most of his adolescent years in Bridgeport. He attended both Central High School and the University of Bridgeport, and later moved to Trumbull where he lived with his family until his death. Tom and his mother Magda were owners of Madison Jewelers on Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield. Tom used his business as an opportunity to help others and was an active contributor to children's charities, town athletic leagues and other significant causes like Fairfield County's Swim Across the Sound for cancer research. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Gaza and Mary Dorogi, Uncle and Aunt, Andrew and Ethel Voll, his stepfather, Alexander Wolf, father-in-law, Casimir Gersz and nephew Matthew Gersz. Tom shared his life with his beloved wife Pamela Gersz Losonci for 25 years. He adored their two boys, Shane, 13 and Josh, 11. He is also survived by his mother Magda Wolf, Cousins, Joseph Voll and his wife Antoinette of Monroe, George Voll and his wife Bridget of Deltona, Florida, his mother-in-law, Rose Gersz, brother-in-law David Gersz of East Haven, brother-in-law Mark Gersz and wife Pamela of Killingworth and sister-in-law Gail Gersz Golden and her husband Myles. In addition he leaves behind his nieces and nephews of whom he adored, Linda, Lisa, Lauren, Kaitlin, Michael, Kristie, Justin, Jake, Peter, Jessica, Meryl, Luke, Taylor, Austin, Olivia and Ava. Tom had a zest for life. He lived every moment to its fullest and for his family. He coached his boys in basketball and baseball, contributed to their schools and his greatest joy was playing with his boys in the backyard or taking them fishing. An avid New England Patriot fan, he and his boys never missed a game. He relished in family parties and birthday bashes for all of the kids. Friends are invited to meet directly in Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave, Trumbull on Thursday January 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
