Obituary of Louise Formichella

Mrs. Louise P. Formichella, age 86, of Monroe, beloved wife of the late Gaetano Formichella, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at St. Josephs Center in Trumbull with her family by her side. Born in Bridgeport on March 8, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Mary Gatto and Anthony Puglio. After graduating from Central High School in 1945, Louise began her long bookkeeping career at J. C. Bradley Insurance Co. She then worked for 35 years at Fairfield County Real Estate until her retirement in 2002. Louise enjoyed playing cards and bingo, going to the casino and her yearly trips to Florida, California and Las Vegas. Mostly, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Besides her husband and parents, Louise was pre-deceased by her brother, Patsy Puglio and her sisters, Grace Welch, Evelyn Palmer and Loretta Bonazzo. She is survived by her loving daughters, Diane Galatie and her husband Dennis of Monroe, and Dr. Donna Formichella and her husband Dr. Octavian Jurjescu of Villa Park, CA, her beloved grandchildren, Nicole (Matt) Neeley, Lauren (Tom) Smith and Mark Jurjescu and her cherished great grandchildren, Holly and Bryce Neeley. In addition, she is survived by her loving and devoted sister and best friend, Ann Petretti of Trumbull, her brother-in-law, John Formichella of Monroe, many nieces and nephews and her dear St. Josephs family, Yvonne Russo, Antoinette Spitz, Rita Romano and Joan Burke. Louise was a truly wonderful, kind and loving woman who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Louises family appreciates the wonderful care she received at St. Josephs Center and wishes to extend their sincere thanks to all of the nurses and staff on 3C, as well as the staff members of Life Choice Hospice for their care, kindness and compassion. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Margarets Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Louises memory to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America through the funeral home.
