Obituary of Carmela Mangiacapra

Carmela Mangiacapra, age 90, of Shelton, a retired seamstress for Warnaco, died on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 in Danbury Hospital. Born in Marcianese, Province of Caserta, Italy on December 16, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Angelina DelBene Mangiacapra.

She was pre-deceased by a sister, Rose Iovane and a brother, Joseph Mangiacapra.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews whom she raised as her own, Angelina Twigg and her husband Michael Sr., Patsy Iovane and his wife Cheryl, Franco Iovane, Teresa Cook, Filomena Mainiero and her husband Anthony, Samuel Mangiacapra and Henry Mangiacapra and his wife Marisala, great nieces and nephews, Michael Jr., Angela, Nicholas, Danielle, Michelle, Anthony, Mikey, Sammy Jr., Anthony, Lauren and Matthew, great great nephew, Nathan. 

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Margarets Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
