Obituary of Joseph J. Berardi

Joseph J. Berardi, age 75, of Bridgeport, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at St. Vincents Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Margaret Kuruc Berardi. Born in New York City, NY, on May 16, 1937 he was a son of the late James and Julia Mascia Berardi. A veteran of the United States Marine Corp and National Guard, Joseph worked as an electrician for the State of CT Department of Transportation, Highway Electrical Department before retiring with over 20 years of dedicated service. He was a homebody that loved his trips to the casinos, a fan of the NY Yankees and Giants and found great enjoyment watching the UConn Womens Huskies Basketball Team. In addition to his beloved wife of 49 years, Margaret, other survivors include brothers-in-law, Michael J. Kuruc of Bridgeport and Ronald J. Kuruc and his wife Bev of Glastonbury, sisters-in-law, Lorraine K. Riccio and her husband Atty. Frank J. of Stratford, Carol VanDuyne and her husband Jim of Stratford, Marie K. Smith and her husband Bob of Sandy Hook and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews that he loved. He was predeceased by a dear aunt, Delia Mandell and brothers-in-law, Vincent R. Kuruc and James G. Kuruc and sister-in-law, Joan K. Hubler. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 12:00 pm directly in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow with full military honors. Friends may call at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull on Wednesday from 4-8 pm.
